Lets face it, Drones are cool. Whether it's for personal use or business, aerial photography really catches everyone's attention these days. I personally think it will become more and more popular. That being said, it's important to understand the perils that come with it.
In recent years, the NTSB ruled, under Herta v. Pirker, that Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) are “Aircraft” and subject to FAA authority and regulation. Almost all Business Insurance and Homeowner policies exclude aviation and aircraft exposures from coverage provided under the policy, so before assuming that your policy will cover you, or your business, it's extremely important to contact your insurance agent or read your policy.
Drone Insurance is available. If you need help getting a quote for it, or other business insurance, please feel free to contract me.
